Metal detec­ta­ble plastics

In addi­tion to the many food-grade plas­tics, we also offer some metal-detec­ta­ble plas­tics. The start­ing mate­rial for this is usually POM C, PEEK or PE 1000. In prin­ci­ple, these plas­tics are EU 10/2011 and FDA compliant.

We call you:

  • POM FG MD blue
  • PEEK FG MD blue
  • PE 1000 FG MD blue

Addi­ti­ves are added to these plas­tics so that metal detec­tors at the end of the produc­tion line would detect plas­tic conta­mi­na­tion under certain condi­ti­ons. Iden­ti­fi­ca­tion depends on diffe­rent influen­ces such as salt content of the product to be proces­sed, particle size, etc. Normally, partic­les with a size of 3 x 3 x 3 mm or larger are identified.

In addi­tion, these mate­ri­als are colo­red blue. The blue color is alre­ady inten­ded to simplify visual reco­gni­tion, since blue food products are very rarely, if ever, proces­sed in food processing.
